Where data in USA tax forms comes from

All tax forms in menu 'Tax forms wizard' use filter by check date.

 

Forms 940:

  • Value in box 3 is equal to Total payments (Reports > Payroll reports > Employee history > Employee history summary > Total payments)
  • Value in box 4 is equal to difference between Total payments and FUTA Gross (Reports > Payroll reports > Payroll categories > select FUTA > Gross)

Form 941 (quarter):

Medicare

  • Value in 'box 5c column one' is equal to Medicare taxable amount (Reports > Payroll reports > Payroll categories > select category Tax Medicare > Column Taxable).
  • Value in 'box 5c column two' is calculated on the report.
  • Value in 'box 5d column two' equal to difference between (amount in box 5c column two) and (Medicare paid amount + Medicare ER paid amount). To get paid amounts run report for Tax Medicare and Payroll tax Medicare ER(Reports > Payroll reports > Payroll categories).
  • Value in 'box 5d column one' is calculated on the report.
