Can I disable department dimension when it used in the GL structure?
When I try to disable the department displays an error as: "Dimension can not be inactive as it's been used in GL structure."
Description:
- Try to disable department dimension when it used in the GL structure
Prerequisites:
- Log in to Harmony and navigate to Payroll Setup> Labor Setup > Setup.
Solution:
This issue can occur when trying to disable department dimension when it is used in GL structure. The system does not allow for the disable department when it is used in the GL structure. You will only be able to disable departments when it is not used in the GL structure. To remove the department from the GL structure follow the following steps.
1. Navigate to Payroll> Payroll setup >General Ledger setup>Structure
3. Click on the three dots in the available GL structure.
4. Check available categories in the "Selected payroll categories" section
5. Click on the three dots next to the categories
6. Check the selected Credit and Debit section
7. Remove department GL from the Credit or Debit section
8. Click save.
9. Navigate to Payroll> Labor setup >Setup
10. Disabled "Department" dimension.
