Slow performance when running on Network drive
Poor performance with Acclaim when running Windows with SP2, in network setup and Symantec Antivirus software.
The antivirus program slows down the computer as it may be scanning the network drives. The anti virus software will scan both your local machine and network drive at the same time, dropping the performance.
- From anti virus program on the workstation, disable the option scan network drives.
- Go to Configure > File System Autoprotect > Drive Type Network and remove the check mark.
- You may want to consider the following:
Keep the data on the workstation for the period when payroll is being processed and then copy it back to the file server
OR
Change the antivirus software
