Payroll Groups Setup

Payroll Groups are the used to organize employees together. Typically, payroll groups are setup so that those who have similar traits are grouped together for each pay run.

Creating a Payroll Group:

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Payroll Groups.
  2. Click the Add button.
  3. Enter the Number and Description.
  4. Select the Type (e.g. Weekly, Bi-Weekly, etc.).
  5. Set the security level. It is recommended that you leave the Security field at low unless you intend to use this Pay Group for a special group such as upper management.
  6. Enter the Next Period End Date and the Next Pay Date.
Paymate does not require you to enter dates for the first pay period of the year. When you enter the next pay period's end date and the next pay period's pay date, Paymate will create the calendar from the first pay period in January to the last pay period in December for you automatically.
The dates that are generated may not be 100% suitable for your pay schedule. You should check that each pay date is correct.
For a monthly or semi-monthly pay frequency, Paymate will generate a standard calendar.
  7. Click the Save button when you are done.
