First Time Payroll Group setup

Payroll Groups are the used to organize employees together. Typically, payroll groups are setup so that those who have similar traits are grouped together for each pay run.

This is a required step to run your first payroll.

 

Pre-requisites:

  • Already downloaded and installed Clarity successfully before starting with this guide.
  • Completed the first time setup and linked the SQL server.
  • Added a company and selected it. 

Creating a Payroll Group:

Steps:

  1. From the top menu, navigate to Setup > Payroll settings > Payroll Groups. A new window should appear.
  2. Click the "+" button. A new window will appear.
  3. Enter in the payroll group number, the name, the pay frequency, the first period end date, and the first period payment date.
  4. Click the OK button when you are done. A new window will appear.
  5. Double check the pay frequency here. If you need to change anything, you can manually change individual dates by double clicking them or recreate the entire payroll calendar by clicking on the Recreate payroll calendar button.
  6. Click the check mark to save when you are done.
